750 MW solar plant in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi Metro will get electricity

You will get from Operations in the 750 MW Rewa Solar Power Project in Madhya Pradesh started on Friday. This solar power plant will be supplied power to Delhi Metro. Madhya Pradesh Energy Development Corporation Limited (MPUNL) said that its largest beneficiary would be Delhi Metro.


A statement issued by MPUVN said that the plant is spread over 1,590 acres and it is being operated by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited. It is the largest solar power plant in the world. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, "The bid for the project was done online. The project has invested Rs 4,000 crore." According to MPUVNL, the project will reduce production of 15.4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.

This project is being developed by Mahindra Renewables, ACME Solar Holding and Solenzeri Power. Rewa Solar Power Plant is India's first solar power project, generated from the money collected for a period of 40 years on 0.25 per cent interest from the Clean Technology Fund. This is India's first solar park which has got a concessional loan from the World Bank. This project is likely to save Rs. 4600 crores to State Discom and Rs. 1400 crores for Delhi Metro.
